This warm and inviting family room is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen so the family can easily flow back and forth between these two high use areas. The floor to ceiling stone fireplace has a raised hearth and the oak beams above have been aged and scraped to complete the casual but comfortable ambiance of the room. The walnut plank flooring in the kitchen and family room were dyed, stained, and hand scraped. The wrought iron balconies on the windows that flank the fireplace were saved and restored from the house that once occupied this space. The small raised terrace on the east side of the family room is radiantly heated so that the family may use their barbecue year round. |
