The central axis of this room revolves around the striking bay window at one end of the room and two carved columns at the other. This room includes a beautiful walnut herringbone floor which sets off the crystal chandelier. The chandelier was saved and restored from the original house. The diamond harlequin floor in the bay window was made by alternating the wood grain of each piece. The custom border marries the diamond design in the bay window to the herringbone patterned field. This room, like the others in the house, has been designed with a top interior decorator and therefore, the crown moldings provide a drapery pocket at each window. |
